Varanasi - Bodh Gaya

Mahabodhi Tempelanlage in Bodh Gaya besichtigt. Ueberwiegend trifft man dort auf Buddhisten, weil sie glauben, dass Buddha an diesem Ort seine Erleuchtung fand als er meditierend unter einem Baum sass. Faellt ein Blatt von diesem Baum, so stuerzen sich meist mehrere Leute auf das Blatt. Mir ist eines auf den Kopf gefallen. Mit dem Segen Buddhas kann auf dieser Reise ja nichts mehr schief gehen.

Visited the Mahabodhi Temple Complex in Bodh Gaya. Mostly Buddhists go there because they believe that Buddha attained Enlightenment meditating there under a huge tree. And so did we. (Sitting under the same tree, not attaining Enlightenment...) Whenever a leaf falls down people jump up and try to catch it. Luckily a leaf from the holy tree of Enlightenment fell on my head. People smiled at me and told me that this is a very special blessing. Let's hope so.
